Description: There’s been such a great upswell of support for the the people of Japan from the design & illustration community (and everyone else, really). I couldn’t very well sit around and not put my drawing skills to use!


My goal with the piece was to create a message that could live on even after Japan has recovered. As cheesy as it sounds, I kinda wanted to make a new “Hang In There Baby!” I don’t want to downplay the reason I created the piece in the first place—I just want to remind everyone that whether your troubles are big or small, hope can help you pull through.

The illustration and accompanying haiku are based on an NPR article about the book Plastic: A Toxic Love Story by Susan Freinkel. The book discusses the double-edged nature of plastics.

Description: I was asked by Beautiful/Decay to take part in Book 4: Exquisite Corpse. 26 artists each created a piece which were then dissected and reassembled in the book creating a menagerie of monster mash-ups!
