ESC-TOY JUST announced they’ll be releasing Erik Scarecrow’s latest toy, Kissaki (which apparently means Point of the Blade) at New York City Comicon.
Kissaki measures a over 10″ and will be available in this “Avenger” colorway exclusive to ESC-TOY LTD. and is limited to ??? pcs. worldwide. Retail will be at $69.99 and will come with a limited edition print while supplies last.
I’ll be attending San Diego Comic Con this year and, I may be wrong, but it seems like all of the sweet toys are released for NYCC. Why is that?

Plushform is a DIY Plush brought to us by the same man who brought us the Wee Ninja. Plushform falls along the lines of the popular DIY Munny except it’s, well, plush. The only other DIY Plush I can think of is the DIY Shiitake from Erick Scarecrow, but that was a limited time promotion thing.
I love the idea of DIY plush because it opens up so many more creative options that aren’t there with a vinyl toy. From the press release:
It’s the balance of Plushform’s materials and shape that offers everyone the best of both worlds. The unique
canvas-like skin is an ideal surface on which 2D artists can illustrate, while its 3-D shape and manipulability via
sewing, appliqué and numerous other additive methods encourages alteration and sculptural creation. Sew on
extra limbs as needed.
Plushform will be $20 and first be available at New York Comic Con. The Plushform website promises more info on April 15th.

Shin Tanaka released the Spiky Baby Deluxe Series today. This series is pretty big, in number and talent. Artists include David Horvath, David Flores, Mori Chack, and tons more big names.
I think I like Touma’s best.

If you’re familiar with Shin’s other toy designs, there’s a surprise new template design hidden in the new series. I would post the image of it here but I don’t want to spoil it.
To get these papercraft toys, head over to Shin Tanaka’s website.

About a year ago UNKL held a design contest where the winners got to see their designs made into real life Unipos. The international designers behind these great looking new Unipo are Tummie from the Netherlands, Rultron from Spain, Peter Creten from Belgium, and Yosoh from USA.
These guys are 2″ and 7.99 a piece. You can get them from Fugitive Toys.

St. Louis, MO—On June, 6, 13, 20 and 27, you’ll find the largest collection of plushies and stuffies in some of St. Louis’ hottest shops from artists and crafters all around the world. Organizers seek ardent fans of plush to submit essays and hand made plush goods for inclusion in a show and comprehensive book, Crammed Organisms, to be published this spring. Artwork and essays should align with the theme: Fairy, Folk and Fable. The published book will be for sale during the show. What is plush? Plush is the modern word for stuffed animals (no, we’re not talking about taxidermy…), also known as stuffies, plushies and now Crammed Organisms.
